why does bridge seem to crash every single time i use it?  i know other people have experienced the same issues because I read about them in the forums.  What happened?

 

I just tried a simple task - sort by dimension. Bridge crashed EIGHT times before I finally gave up and sort with finder. IS that what I have to do now when I want menial tasks that bridge used to be GREAT at?

Very confused and would love to know if someone has some sort of solution that fixes bridge and does not involve any destruction of eqt.

 

Using CS6 on a macbook pro

Hi,

 

My metadata needs are quite modest but I'm struggling to find an easy way to add a few notes to files.  There's a notes field in file properties but when I try to edit it I get a 'This property cannot be modified' popup.

 

The File info... method doesn't seem to offer a notes option and is relatively slow way of actually adding information anyway.  If anyone has any tips on how to get this working it would be much appreciated.

I'm having an issue with Bridge CC were I setup a smart collection to monitor my new photos. The folder contains over 300 photos, but is only displaying 160. The only condition I set is to have a minium file size of 10kb, so it should bring in all files since most are over 4mb. At first I thought it was a problem with the files themselves (permissions or something) but if I open the folder in bridge it easily displays all of the images easily. Any ideas?

Initial installation of Brige CC worked fine. Installed the Bridge CC Output Module with result that Bridge CC won't execute. Have uninstalled, used the Cleaner utility to reset the Creative Cloud App Tab, and then installed Bridge CC once again. Same result, doesn't execute. Spent about eight hours online while Adobe Tech-Rep tried to resolve the problem using screen and desktop sharing but his result was worse than mine because he uninstalled my Photoshop and Bridge CS6 applications without asking me and failed to fix Bridge CC.

 

Here's how I stand-

 

a. Bridge CC doesn't execute

 

b. I'll have to spend eight to twelve hours installing my PS 7.0 disk and all of the upgrade disks needed to get Photoshop CS6 and Bridge CS6 back on my deskop.

 

I'm a patience man and I realize that, so far, this misadventure has only cost me $9.99 for the first month of my Creative Cloud experience with Photoshop CC and Bridge CC,; not counting time lost serving my clients and reinstalling CS6 applications that didn't need to be uninstalled.

 

Come now, surely there's a corrective procedure that I can carry out that will resolve the problem and I don't mean "Uninstall Bridge CC and reinstall it."

This problem started not long after I I downloaded Bridge CC. I tried purging the Cashe and nothing happens. I also have problems with the foldwr panel and certain folders which will not open. I have to drag the folder to Bridge from the finder and then it will usually open. The issue has gotten so bad that to really work in bridge I have gone back to C6.

I absolutely need the blank output panel to work and see all the problems and wonder where is Adobe on this with a fix! After all, I run a business and this minor thing to some is a major job stopper to me. HELP with a solution please.

I need to see Date Created Order to the second, not minute.

I currently shoot sport on two camera bodies, Nikon D3 and D3s.  The timing of the shots is critical and I need to sort them in "Date Created Order" in Adobe Bridge. The software usually does a very good job of this, it seems to know, which order to arrange them in, but sometimes I need to rearrange the order manually.  To do this I need to be able to see, to the second, when each file was created.  In Adobe Bridge, I only seem to be able to see which minute the file was created.

 

Windows 7 Adobe Creative Cloud and CS6

Out of the box, Adobe Bridge has been crashing "randomly" when opening folders.

To pinpoint the cause of the crash, I created a new folder and dragged the files one by one from one of the other folders that crashed Bridge.

It all works fin until I drag a GIF file, then it just stops responding and crashes immediately.

 

I have tried with several different GIF files, and they all seem to crash Bridge.

 

Any ideas of any settings to stop this from happening?

I, of course, need to work with gifs, so filtering those out is not a solution.

I downloaded the trial version of photoshop. I am working with a tutorial from Lynda.com. The first thing the tutorial said to do was to locate files using the powerful Bridge tool integrated into photoshop CS6 extended. I see no Bridge function in the file menu. Is there something I'm missing?

Please tell me that the only way to make a pdf is not via the god awful contact sheet II tool as its slow and much more limited ... its just taken me 20 mins to do something I usually do in 1!! not very happy at the moment as I removed bridge cs6 from my system assuming that the newer version would be better!

A few recent blog posts have really convinced me to start using Bridge to manage and view a huge and very old collection of inspiration and reference images. Bridge's features like collections, favorites, and keywords are exactly what I need. But I'd like to keep these images in my Dropbox folder so I can access it from my work, home, and travel computers. Is there a way to share the collections/favorites/keyword information between computers this way? Perhaps store them centrally in Dropbox so I can read from and write to them from anywhere I have Dropbox installed?

As simple as the subject.. please.. bring it back!

 

Adobe Output Module was an essential tool in Bridge, possibly the key feature to show people why to use Bridge.

I recently updated to Creative Cloud (Windows 7). Today I unstalled CS6. Following the uninstall, I can no longer open a .psd, .ai or .indd file from Bridge CC. I receive an error from Windows that the CS5 version of Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign cannot be found (see example below). I can open the files directly from the CC application. I can also open .psd files from Mini Bridge.

 

RAW files (.cr2) open in ACR without problem.

 

I can open a .psd directly from Windows Explorer into Photoshop; the same with .ai files in Illustrator and .indd files in InDesign.

 

I cleared my Bridge cache.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

I am learning Adobe Photoshop and am being introduced to Bridge. The Tutorial I am using demonstrated the Output function which allow images to be converted to PDF's. In my Windows version I am finding a Keyword function in it's place that does not do the same thing. Can someone tell me where the Output function is for the windows version of Bridge?

I just signed up for PhotoshopCC.

I have been using PS with a dual monitor system but the CC version of Bridge has dropped the ability to create a  "New Synchronized Window" so that I can review the files on the second monitor without any of the clutter.

Is there any chance that this will be fixed soon. I know many professionals who use 2 monitors.

is it normal that Bridge don't generate thumbnails from SVG files ? and can't add xmp metadatas ?

Uploaded through Bridge CC photos from my camera; went through the motions, not paying attention, but it did NOT save 'em where I usually save 'em; how can I ask Brindge or just the Mac Finder the last files I downloaded & where I saved 'em too? Oh, yeah, it ERASED the photos from my camera. I basically just need to ask my Mac (OS 10.8) where I downloaded 'em to. Thanks!

After having read a similar thread (What happened to exposure-related EXIF values in the Metadata panel?) which doesn't really answer my question, I got to start a new one:

 

1) In my Bridge CS5 I want to know the "Exposure" entry with info like "1/50 s at f/2.8" in the meta data placard.

2) So I set this in the Bridge presets / meta data / camera data (Exifs)

by activating "exposure" plus "exposure correction".

3) After that exposure values of jpgs and tiffs show up in Bridge --- so far so good.

4) But next time when opening Bridge this preset has been "forgotten"! Isn't it stupid work to do above number (2) each and every time after starting Bridge?

Opening bridge brings up

 

Trying to purge the cache in preferences makes Bridge lock up, it shows "Building criteria..", is totaly unresponsive to any klick commands, and can only be shut down in Task Manager.

 

Ever time I open bridge, it opens the last folder I encountered the problem with, and I have not found a way to fix this yet.

I can't get into the application folder where the cache resides, because Windows 7 has a default tendency to lock you out of certen places in the operating system.

 

Please has anyone an answer on how to fix this.
